Awhile back I saw a website that showed a guy cleaning brass with a liquid mix. Required no polishing or agitation, just let soak, rinse, and wipe and dry. Can't remember the product name, don't think it was Birchwood Casey but could be wrong. Anyone use this or a similar product? This stuff was even supposed to clean primer pockets if brass was deprimed. Any advice greatly appreciated!

CLR from the local hardware store or Canadian Tire works just fine. Don't forget to pickup some rubber gloves while you are there.

Used it long ago. Don't remember the name either. You should be able to find it in your local gun shop.
"...and dry..." Put the cases on a cookie sheet and into your oven set on the lowest temperature. Dries 'em in about 15 minutes or so. Don't touch the cases until they cool when fresh out of the oven.

As part of my reloading equipment 'upgrade' I bought an RCBS Sidewinder Case Tumbler. With it you have the option of using a walnut shell, corncob, polishing compound or liquid case cleaned. An 8oz bottle of liquid cleaner came with it that you dilute with about 4 gal's of water. The liquid cleaner I haven't tried yet. Just found out something else. This tumbler can also be used for the Moly coat application of bullets.

Would CLR, over time, be corosive and or damaging to the brass ?
Maybe it doesn't react with metal tho, not sure.

After dipping brass in CLR give it a good rinsing with hot water. Then I put it on a towel on the shoe rack inside the dryer and run it for about 5 minutes.

Johnn, If you are going to use your tumbler for moly coating you will want to get a seperate bowl for this operation.

Thanks for the suggestion to use a separate bowl or drum but for now, I don't intend to do any moly coating. When I was looking at the info on the unit before I posted to this thread I just happened to notice that capability. You'd think I would've picked up on that before I purchased it, but I didn't.

For hand work on small amounts of brass I use the Nufinish from WalMart (Orange bottle).

For larger amounts I'd use the other ideas mentioned. :D
