I picked up a Lithgow 303 from a fellow gunnut and found the headspace to be excessive. So over to #4MK1(T) Steve's place I went to see if he had any spare bolt heads kickin' around.
After some rootin' around in his bottomless drawer he finds one and it headspaced out perfectly in my rifle.
Steve changed out the extractor spring and had to do some "work" on the extractor to get it to fit. After about an hour of "fitting" the extractor it was done and the rifle is functioning as it supposed to.
Then I told Steve that the safety didn't look like it was in the proper position, so he takes it out and rotates it a bit and back it goes in the rifle and it's functioning as new. After a couple of hours of tweeking the Lithgow for me , all Steve said he wanted was a No 3 rear sight in trade. I thought that was a hell of a deal....the world needs more gun nuts and less politicians.
