This little guy went down at less than 50 yards in the brush with open sights on a Lee Enfield No.4. At about 3:30 we were about to call it an early day and go to the gun show in town when we saw a tail flash into the bush. My son and I jumped from the truck in pursuit, and found ourselves where the bucks were bedding down in the thick brush as there were four of them all around us, and they kept popping in and out of sight. I was watching for one to our left when this one and a 4 point appeared together on the right. This one offered up a good shot and went down like a stone with a hit to the spine. I sped things up a little with a clean head shot to put him down quick and quiet. I'm sure my son will remember this, his first hunt as an active participant, he sure seems enthused!.
