Probably not the best timing, but I don't care. I was out shooting mine when the 'troubles' happened.

I love it, I've had no problems and I'm glad I bought it :)

Thanks! That was a sighting-in group with the SPARC. It was my first shoot with it, was using the BUIS before. I was tempted with an Aimpoint PRO, but the SPARC does everything I need at half the price.

The high mount co-witnesses perfectly with the BUIS, and it's real easy to shoot. Just have to be careful the retaining straps for the caps don't get in the way of tightening the turrets up, otherwise the battery compartment doesn't close enough and the red-dot flickered under recoil. A quick fiddle and it sorted things right out (there's a quote!)

For 200-odd bucks you get the SPARC, 2x magnifier, and 3 mounting options. Means I can switch it onto other log guns in the future should the need arise.
Seems like a no-brainer to me!

Nice pics! Do you find the AFG comfortable that close to the front? Have you fired it with the AFG closer to the magwell?

So far I've found the AFG very comfortable. It helps me get a consistent grip on the AR, makes it very controllable and 'nimble'. I can also either wrap my support hand thumb over the rail, or on top of the wee side rail in a 'thumb forward' grip.

I like the AFG for its more natural hand position compared to a vertical grip. Mounting it closer to the magwell would kinda defeat the point of the AFG IMHO. I'm new to ARs so the whole 'fencing' style grip you see in many videos is a new concept for me. It really seems to work, and the AFG is perfect for helping me learn it.

You don't get 1. Stability and 2. Ergonomics working in your favour holding an AR close to or on the mag well.

Having done numerous carbine courses including the CF Gunfighter program, I can tell you that the first sign someone doesn't know how to properly fight an AR platform is the magwell hold. Second would be them taking their trigger hand off the grip to do anything other than clear a complex stoppage.

Have you tried running it without the AFG?

I was thinking of giving one a try but wanted to run it with just the rail first. I have to admit, NEA is on to somthing with the slab sides and the short rails at the front. They make a solid grip all on their own IMO. An unintentional built in hand stop (or maybe intentional ;) )

Just looking for your input before I spend the money.

Yep I sure did. I managed to resist buying all the tacticool bits I thought I needed and actually went out and shot it some first. Then I shot it a bit more.

I found that although I could get quite good grip in the NEA rails, I wanted to get more consistency and something to help me focus on the new style of shooting for me. The AFG seems to keep your wrist at a natural 45 degree angle, it's small and lightweight. I found that a normal foregrip with your arm stretched forward was over-extending my wrist. It also stops me falling back into old bad habits ;)
The AFG is very comfortable, and IMO well worth the 40 or so dollars. If you don't like it, someone on EE will!

Thanks.

I deleted the last part of my prior post before I submitted it...

"...spend money on one then have to sell it on the EE for 120%"

LOL

The joke is getting a bit old, I know.

scarcechalice9, what are those scope covers (I am assuming butler creek but what size?)?
I recently bought a sparc that came with bikini covers that were unlinked. I would gladly replace it (the cover) by flip ups
