little Christmas present to myself! (Video up post 20!)

getting asked this multiple times from everyone.
what did i pay all in for this.

1x Tier 1 (Advanced) Ruger 10/22 Trigger Work - Full Width / Blue / The Sweet Spot for $110.00
1x Ruger 10/22 Factory Trigger Group for $52.00
Shipping $20

thats directly off my invoice.
so some will ask why i purchased a whole new trigger group for $52.
answer is it was gonna probably cost me $20 more likely $30 to ship my trigger group down, so for the extra $20 i went with a whole new one from them.

here are some numbers i pulled from when i picked up my different trigger groups couple years ago - red numbers are current prices for comparison.

Kidd 1 stage $319 plus shipping (current price $319)
Kidd 2 Stage $352 (now $425) plus shipping
Timney $276 shipping included (same price)
Volquartsen Auto Bolt Release 14, Hammer spring strut assembly 9, Bolt tune up kit 43, HP action kit 147 = Total 213 + shipping (unsure if prices are still current)
Brimstone $182 shipping included
Ruger BX-Trigger $130 plus shipping (from Cabela's)

I worked out the Canadian Special with David at Brimstone years ago... I have sent dozens of shooters his way for Tier 1 jobs... David's triggers are better than VQ-2000's... Almost the equal of a Kidd with regard to performance (but not materials), and at less than half the price. I have posted reviews and tests in the past showing before and after performance testing and side by side comparisons with most top triggers available.

Wow. Good to know. I would never have thought "we" could get them shipped back and forth like that.

So what about getting s original barrel done? Can we ship?

i have no idea about the barrel.

i assume your talking about getting it threaded for a muzzle break/flash suppressor?
any gunsmith should be able to do that for ya.

No there are a few guys on rimfirecentral who accurize regular 10/22 barrels and make them shoot very well. I understand they set the barrels back a couple thou and rechamber.

Just ordered a tier 1 trigger from brimstone. Your friends reactions sold me on it. Though with our dollar in the crapper I paid a little more for it (about 250 all said and done). I'm sure it will be worth it. Thanks for the reviews.

the dollar is bleeding me!
i just ordered a stock from Boyd's should have ordered a year ago but didnt because i was lazy.
now instead of paying $130 plus shipping im out near $300 for it.

damn this hobby!

I've been debating what to do with my trigger also as I find it a little heavy and would like it a little lighter.. After reading your post I certainly know what I'm going to do now! Order a stock ruger trigger from them and have them tune it up for me!

ive got a couple different triggers.

Kidd 2 Stage.
Timney.
VQ.
Brimstone.
stock metal and plastic.
RIA stock.

and in my honest opinion the Brimstone trigger is the best for the money.
it would be even better if our dollar wasnt so crappy.
i dont mean to say its better then a Timney or a Kidd its just the best bang for the buck.

Hey upnorth, have you shot the kidd drop in trigger kit. So far that is by far the best for the money that I have shot. We'll see how the brimstone compares when it arrives. Both are about as equal in price as you can get.
