Im looking to sell a Ljugman.I know nothing about Mil-Surp.I'd say the rifle i in 90%condtion with the spare parts/cleaning kit...Any idea on a value? Thanks

The Americans pay good money for them. 42's were not exported to the US from Sweden. They are super and undervalued rifles. Besides, it pairs nicely with my M96.

Yea - $250-350 would cover off about any AG42b that would show up. Ditto on the prices being much higher in the US (US$600+).

I only have one because I collect Swedes. As much as I like their mausers, this thing is an abomination as far as looks and handling goes - very "un-Swedish". Eats up brass and fingers too.

AG42B Swede

The prices are in the 250. - 300. here in canada. Now, Andy this business of a 42 eating fingers has a lot to do with dexterity and reading the instructions, I'm sure they must be somewhere?????(kidding Andy that wouldn't happen to you) The chore of rounding up empty brass can be reduced by installing an adjustable plug in the gas block. OH I know it sounds like BUBBA but it really is not the adjustable plug can be removed and a regular short screw installed to return it to normal. This should be done by a gunsmith if you're not sure of what you're doing.

I find that people never take the value of accessories into account when I am trying to sell a firearm on this board. Unless you are just desperate to have it out the door and be done with it, its probably better to sell the parts kit or any other accesories separately, after the rifle has sold.

It's always amazed me how underappreciated the Ljungmann is.

I think it's easily the best of the World War II semi-automatic battle rifles in all manners (yes even the 'Anti-Flanking Brass Flinging' :p ) and yet, is the absolute cheapest and most un-desirable of them all.

Oh well. Makes it cheap for newbies who want a very nice semi-auto milsurp and can't afford a Garand or a Tokarev or a G43. :)

Aside from the Tokarev, it's not like ammo is any cheaper or easier to find for the Garand or G43.

I had one in good shape (usual minor stock dings) with tool kit, on EE for quite a while. Ended up taking $200 for it. The brass trajectory was a drawback, but I wasn't that impressed with the grouping @100Yds. and it shot about a foot high. Got it on a trade, should have held out for a trade on a Garand, which I was under the impression are more inherently accurate.

No that's odd. I set the sights at 1, and at 100yds it shot the centre out of the target.
As for ammo, I think either Winchester or Remington makes unprimed brass as well.

Have noticed in the past that if any rifle is left with the action open on a rack in the gun store, it will be the Lungman:rolleyes:

Folks have yet to figure out that the simplest way to close it is to lower the mag before working the bolt carrier. That bolt do snap closed with a bit of authority!;)

What's the reload'ability of fired brass like?
I had one and the rifle had a tendency to tear brass up, that is when I could find it!

The rifle was great, very interesting but I found that the semi auto was not for me and I am concentrating on the bolt actions and pistols!
