I had the opportunity to put a box of ammo through this neat little pistol the other day. It's my fathers and he's had it for at least 15 years. I hogged most of his ammo.

I have to say that I was impressed with this little guy. It functioned 100%. The sights were horrid. The front was a tiny bump that you were supposed to align with a very shallow notch in the rear sight. At 7 yards POI was a couple inches high. The trigger is mushy with a very hard to define reset. The trigger guard is quite small and when shooting at speed it lightly bit my trigger finger. It shot well with doubles and recoil was negligent. Mags hold 7 rounds.
I think this was 21 rounds, flyers were my fault entirely. Distance was 7 yards.

The finish was mostly smooth and dehorned with the the rear sight and magazine providing the only sharp edges. It was quite comfortable to shoot, though after a box of ammo the mag base was a little annoying and dug into the little finger of my shooting hand.
It comes apart very much like a full size 1911:

But it's much smaller:

It was a treat to shoot. It fed everything reliably, including a mixed bag of JHP's. It was acceptably accurate and would make an excellent BUG with a slightly larger trigger guard, new sights, and a dehorning of the mag. I did a little research and production on these started in 1933 and lasted thru 1954, I'm not sure what year this one was made, I'm just glad I got to shoot it. I would love to see a modern manufacturer make an updated version.
