LMT MRP Barell Removal

Hi guys,

I just gave my LMT it's first decently thorough cleaning, and when removing the barell, I removed both scres from the upper receiver. The instructions say that the rear screw only need be loosened and not removed. Also, when putting the barell back in, I tightened both screws evenly, rather than the front one first (fully) followed by the rear screw - as prescribed by the ownership manual.

To anyone who has experience with this, is the owners manual specific about this for any particular reason...i.e, would this affect anything?

I believe that you need to use the torque wrench that came with the upper to torque the bolts to the required 140in/lbs.

Uh oh, tell me you didn't do that! I'm afraid that you've now damaged your upper and it's irreversible!

I'll be willing to take it off your hands for a couple hundred!

I'm so mechanically challenged and screwed up my MRP upper but it keeps shooting well so what you did can't be that bad! As long as you don't end up with any extra bolts or nuts you're ok I think! Don't laugh, that happened to me when I disassembled my first black rifle - XCR! Unfortunately, some of the disassembly was involuntary but I still love it, my first black rifle!

That's all there is to it my friend, I just use a screwdriver these days to barrel swap barrel's. Those cheesy torque wrenches that come with them haven't even been out of the package. If you insist about on using one, buy a quality wrench that "breaks" at the required inch pounds
