If I wanted to get a new barrel for the MRP what are the options?

The US won't export them anymore.

Only option would be to see if gunsmith would make one up from a blank barrel and add the gastube to it?

Thanks

Actually I just got it (Thanks Mark @ Questar its a beautiful rifle) but I'd like to know if I can replace it before I do shoot it out. If I can't replace it easily, sadly it'll mostly be a safe queen. And I'll be blasting away with my Armalite until I feel skilled enough to shoot the beauty.

Chrome lined barrels last 40k-50k rounds?

Yes unforunatly I won't be shooting that many rounds in my lifetime in this rifle so I shouldn't consider it. But at my current skill level I'd rather shoot something I can replace.

Shoot the darn thing and enjoy it.

US State Department does this every few years... it's happened before where they tightened restrictions on AR's and then after a few years they loosen back up again. This isn't really all that "new".

As for replacement barrels... we're working on getting a quantity of MRP barrels done for us in .223 so that shouldn't be an issue down the road. It's going to take you a long time to "shoot out" your current barrel (if ever)... don't worry about it.

You intend on shooting that much over the next couple years that you will shoot out the barrel???

What was the purpose of buying the MRP if you don't intend on using it? If you don't want a "safe queen" then you shouldn't be worried about shooting it.

No I can't afford that much ammo.

Thats greasy haha

Purpose:

Target shooting with it in the near future when I want to. Currently looking into optics.

I'm not but could be a collector.

I just wanted to know the options for myself. And Now I know what I can recommend to someone looking for this rifle or upper. Thanks again Mark.

Do like me and shoot that LMT, because sooner in 48 hours or later in 5 years ,the Liars will be back in power and they will take that rifle from you.
