Anyone out there have any load data for this cartridge?

Looking to load 250gr Barnes MRX and/or 250gr Nosler Accubond.

I have RL-22 and H4831 on hand.

Elmer would approve of those loads as well....he developed that cartridge because he figured that a 250gr. 338 bullet should reach 3000fps, and the current .338s, the Winchester and Weatherby came up short.
 
Several years ago, a friend of Elmer Keith by the name of Ross Seyfried spoke very highly of the round. At the time it was his favorite cross-canyon Elk rifle.
 
Yup I remember reading about him takeing Elk at very long range with one. I had all the other 338s so I just had to try the 338/378. It was the WBY not the KT. Yup, works good. 3450 out of 210 TSXs, well over 3000 with 250s. Killed two big Mulies with it. Way too dead.
 
Thanks for the link Mauser. I think I'll start at 94 or 95gr and work up from there. Helping out a buddy with this who is fairly new to reloading. I tried to find a COL max and trim length spec, but so far turned up empty. I see this cartridge is not listed on the SAAMI site, so I suspect there is no established case length spec. I think my best bet is probably to order a Sinclair chamber length guage and trim .050 back from the end, but if anyone has any info on the designed case specs I'd be much obliged.

Also, any tips on forming brass from .338-.378 Weatherby cases would be great. I've got a pretty good idea of the procedure but at 5 bucks a case I'd rather not screw any up.:redface::D
 
I had one of these built on a P14 some years back, great rifle. I found that pushing the shoulder back was easier with new brass then some used stuff I had bought for that purpose. Then shorten to length, and don't forget to measure the neck thickness, you'll probably have ream them a bit. FWIW - dan
