I'm shooting a Ruger GSR with an 18" barrel; does any body have a hunting load recipe that they have found to be accurate? I'm currently working with SGK (180gr.) and Hornady SST (150 gr.) On hand, I have Varget, 3031, 4831, and Ramshot Hunter.
Thanks!

Barnes ttsx 168 and. Reloader 15 in mine. Good for me as I do more shaking than the bullet. I get around 2600 2650 fps with mine

I load 42 grains of IMR 4064 with the 180 Hornady flat base Interlock, for consistent .75 inch groups.

Every rifle and load combination is different, but I'd try the 180 SGK with something like 44 grains of Varget. YMMV.

I haven't reloaded for my GSR yet. All I can add to this discussion is that the slower powders will tend to have an impressive muzzle flash especially with lighter bullets ,

I'm shooting factory ammo right now but am considering starting to reload for my Gunsite scout. I'm curious to hear what you more experienced shooters have to say:
- what was your accuracy with something basic like Prvi Partisan 145gr or Federal American Eagle 150gr (the only things I have shot)
- what kind of improvement are you seeing with handloads
- bonus points: is it worth bedding this rifle?

I'm only going to be hunting, not looking for a precision rifle, but a little more accuracy never hurt, right? Basically I'd like to get an idea of the ballpark I should be in with the low-grade ammo I'm shooting. I have some 168gr Hornady GMX which I will group before I go out with it, but first I'm getting the scope dialed in and developing some skillz.

(I have the 18.5" barrel, no flash hider.)

Thanks.

Im shooting a 170gr cast bullet with 42gr of LVR and the same bullet with 20gr of imr 4227. I dont have a chrono but these seem to be accurate and safe(In my gun)

Waiting on my brownelle order to ship with 3 new bullet molds and some new mags. (dont like the steel ones)
