Since I still cannot access my longer ranges due to covid closures,
Decided to hammer the 200M with tests after tests, rather than locking the rifle until 2021.
1st improvement, decided to find a higher node with still some manœuvre before pressure, so I can shoot in the rain.
Found it.
37.4gn of H4350 behind a 139 OTM gave me repeat 1/3 moa accuracy, 5 shot groups at 200.
This new node is netting me 2705fps, which improved my windage and am now super past 1000M.
2nd improvement, decided to do a 180 with my dies, just for the kick of it (because once again boredom and saving all that match money I got to spend it anyways)
Put my redding die and Lee collet aside, to try the Forster FLS with expander ball removed and Sinclair neck expander die.
Redid a mini load dev to confirm experiment.
Turns out it’s even more accurate than ever.
Really funny, as the Lee Collet would produce absolute zero runout ammo, with slight variances in bullet tension.
Don’t know for sure but seating bullets would feel like it.
Now with the new setup, I get constantly 1.5 thou runout, no better no worse, but seating bullets feels the exact same way time after time.
Just ordered a honed forster die now.
Small test with new die...
Don’t know why the brain fart and wrote 34gn, it’s obviously in the 37s.
