i am in the process of developing loads for my piece - had a very peculiar event yesterday that I would like some input with -
So I have narrowed down my bullet/powder combo to around 45gr of h4350 - yesterday I did two three shot groups of each of three loads, and almost mirrored the groups - that is, 2 with 44.8, 2 with 45gr, and two with 45.2 gr...
what I found was remarkable to me - the 44.8 and 45.2 hit the target in the same spot, and both loads, both groups of each load, had horizontal stringing of around an inch at 200yds... the 45 gr load, both groups, was an inch higher, and had perfect vertical stringing of 3/4" at 200yds...
What surprised me was the repeatability of the 6 groups, mirroring the previous group with the same load, and especially the perfect horizontal string followed by a perfect vertical, followed by a perfect horizontal, all .2gr apart...
My plan is to now play with seating depth with the 45gr load and see if I can get the vertical stringing to a minimum....
