load info on 6.5-06

I am curious if anyone has any experience with this round. If so I am looking for any load info, velocities and barrel length. I would be planning on using 130gr and 140gr VLD's
I know there is published data on this round. I'm looking for personal data and info

I do have some experience. Not often or never published but I was getting good velocity with RL-25. try with 130's and 140's. Send me a PM if interested, Ill have to dig up my notes.

BigBear; Is that my old 6.5-06 you are loading for?
If so, I must still have a bit of data here somewhere.
IIRC, I was using H1000 for excellent results with 139/140 grain bullets.

If you're going to use 140 grain bullets, you will need a fairly tight twist rate to stabilize the boat tails.

I have one I bought from Eagleye several years ago, on a Winchester M70 with a 1-10 twist rate and it will stabilize some 140grn bullets, as long as they are flat based.

The 1-10 twist rate stabilizes all 130 grain bullets quite well.

I eventually picked up a reamer with a short leade and set the bbl back 1/2 inch so I could get the bullets closer to the lands, for better accuracy.

Great cartridge.

Unless you use powders that are substantially slower than H4831, there isn't enough difference in the 140 grain weight bullet to worry about.

Eagleye is right, 7828 and H1000 work well for higher velocities.

To achieve reliable stabilization, a 1-8 twist rate is desirable for the longer 140 VLD and boat tail bullets.
