Load-out Question

Take 5 rounds out of each clip, then when the clips are empty, put them back in, 5 rounds per clip.

I cut a bunch in half to solve the problem. If you cut them just over halfway, you can bend the end over to retain the rounds. Only trouble then is it only goes in one way.

this is a canadian thing, it was not a pick up, it was issued rather than the E-tool, and made canadian units much disliked by the enemy, they could be fully dug in before tea was brewed

Shovels were still issued in the British infantry when I left in 1999. (Except for the one or two men per section who got a pick, which was nicer to carry on the back of your webbing because the head and handle were separable, but meant you usually finished digging last because if no one needed to borrow your pick you didn't get to use their shovel for long.)
