I've burned through my factory ammo and I'm getting set to reload. What do you folks suggest for a good recipe? I have the following ingredients.

Hornady brass
CCIBR2 primers
Hogdon H4350 powder
Berger 140gr VLDs
Lee full length die
Lee collet neck size die
Forster Bench Rest seater die

I will be shooting from Accurate mags and PMags.

yup ladder testing changed my world. Saves a lot of components and barrel life from my old way. Nobody's recipes are guaranteed to work in your rifle or be safe. The whole point of reloading is to tune your ammo to your rifle. From what I have read the berger VLD's are finicky with how close they have to be to the lands so maybe start by figuring out what you need for a OAL to jam into the lands or be just off them and see if they will still work in your mags.

Heres a great write up on the VLD's

I like to hear what other are using before I roll my own. I'll have a look at my reloading book, see what it suggests, then have a look at what people say they use. For example, 26gr of Varget seems to work with 69gr SMKs for a whole lot of people. Just wondering if anyone has a similar common load for the 6.5 using 140gr VLDs. H4350 seems to be the standard powder used with the 6.5.

Maybe you have already read it but you can filter through about 9 pages of load data here if you haven't

And a couple here strictly about the 140gr

A little off topic sorry but has anyone tried to duplicate Hornady ELD-M or ELD-X ammo?

I tried the ELD-X, I couldn't find the ELD-M in stock locally. The ELD-X shot very very well for me in my Savage.40-41gr of H4350 yielded 1/2-3/4moa 5 shot groups fairly consistently.
