From my understanding, you can’t have your gun loaded before legal shooting hours but is it allowed to be loaded if it is concealed in a case or sock?
Or does everyone just wait until it’s legal time to load their gun?
Getting all set up before day light in the morning and then having to make noise loading your gun seems like a pain. Just looking for the most efficient way to load my gun in the morning without making much noise.

Loading a gun isn't that loud. Wait until you are out of camp and away from others and point your rifle in a safe direction and load it then.

Those other scenarios you describe sound like a recipe for a tragedy.

You understood it correctly.

Are you concerned about the noise your loading makes with regards to scaring the birds/prey away???

We're talking, laughing, smoking cigars on my buddy's boat and the bird still come to us ;)

The whole loading bit is maybe 10-20s in the whole preparation bit.

In which province do you live? In Ontario, having an uncased firearm one half hour BEFORE "official" sunrise and one half hour AFTER "official" sunset will result in a $250 ticket. If it's loaded as well, you'll be losing the gun and going to court. Didn't you take the hunter safety training course to get your license? It was all covered.

You wouldn't make much of a big game hunter...

OP... it is illegal in Ontario to have your gun loaded before 1/2 hour before sunrise and after 1/2 after sunset... just load as quietly as you can.

When loading a semi you can hold the bolt while you depress the action release and gently let it go into battery. With a pump just go slow and easy. It wont be loud.
A loaded gun in a case is a bad idea and if transported that way also illegal.

Depends on your province. In BC you can have your gun loaded 24/7 as long as you are in an area it's legal to shoot and not in a vehicle.

In Ab. as well ( at least it was when I hunted wilderness area's and haven't heard of any changes). If I wasn't in a vehicle my rifle was loaded 24/7. Most rifles hung on tree's at night but someone had at least one rifle that was always loaded in the tent at night. Grizz's (or blacks for that matter) don't pay attention to time zones or sun-up-sun-down tables.
