Has anyone else used this software?

I'm getting the error messages, "volume ratio outside correlation limits" and, "weight ratio outside correlation limits" for all the available bullets in 45.70.

I cannot find an explanation for these messages and am unsure what they are refering to, and how I should proceed.

(yes I've emailed the company...)

Happy Trails!

I've used it - waste of money. The messages you're getting indicate that the system can't work with your case volume / barrel volume relationship.

It can't do handguns. It won't let you choose your powder (you can only work with the selection it thinks will be good for you). And so on.

I hate to say it, but you need to toss LFAD and get a copy of QuickLoad from Neco (http://www.neconos.com/details3.htm). It's missing a couple of newer powders (like Titegroup), but is otherwise outstandingly flexible. I have found it to be accurate +- 1% with rifle loads when I feed it accurate information (like measured case volume).

Ya Thanks Thatcher.
It's a funny program all right. It also claims a Nosler 180gr BTip is 1.415inches long and I have a whole box of them in front of me that measure 1.366 inches long.
Still though...I'm using a 22in barrel for the 45/70 calculation and the cartridge funtions perfectly well in an 18.5 inch barrel so you'd think it wouldn't be a problem.
What really pisses me of is that I've sent them 3 emails since I bought the program and they've never replied to any of them.

Welcome to retailing in the 21st C eh!

I second the motion that you dump this and get QuickLoad. They are fairly aggressive in staying current with powders and whatnot, and you will be pleasantly surprised at how close your chronographed velocities come to what QuickLoad predicted. I am pretty trusting of this software when it comes to load development.
