Loading 7.62x54r with .303 brit dies?

Is it possible to size and load 7.62x54r with .303 brit dies, especially if I just neck size? I know the neck size and projectile is the same but the rest of the case isn’t.

Doubt it. The cases are very different, the .303 being smaller in diameter.

I believe you can use the Lee Collet Neck size die for 303 Brit to do 764X54r. I use the Lee Collet die for 7.55X55 Swiss on my match grade 7.62X4r target ammo.

You can use a certain Lee expander for 303s inside your lee 7.62x54r sizing die but don’t just use a 303 sizing die. I just press my .311 bullets into the .308 neck. I do have the expander on order, just feels right.

You can also use 308 Winchester dies, and just seat appropriate 303 bullets in the neck-sized cases.
