I have just started reloading.
I have win 231 powder
win sm pistol primers
and 124 gr FMJ bullets.
I have a springfield XD

My Lyman book does not cover 124 gr FMJ only 130 gr FMJ. Can I use the same data. I suspect not.

The winchester web site gives some loading data. But does not match
the 124 gr FMJ with 231 powder.

I would run out and buy another book but no where in my town sells this kind of stuff.

Help please...

Winchester re-loading data shows 124 gr FMJ starting at 4.2 grains and going up to 4.5 grains.

I personally use 3.8 grains and that a nice light training round with a clean burn. I have gone up to 5.0 with no ill effects. Make up a few with .1 grain changes to see what works best in your gun. I'm using my loads in a Sig 226 with a 125 FMJ

You can down load and view some pdf winchester data books at one of the sites sponsors at the reloading bench.

Hope this helps!

According to my Sierra Reloading Manual, which I use for my wife's Glock 17 loads:
125 grns FMJ (OAL = 1.090)
or
125 grns JHP (OAL = 1.075)
SW 231 Powder:
Min.= 3.9 grns to Max = 5.0 grns

Good luck.
