currently im loading a 124 grain bullet behind 3.8 grains of tightgroup, according to hodgdons online data center the max load for a 125 grain LRN is 4 grains but the max for a 125 grain FMJ is 4.4 grains. So my question is how high can i push it? i want to make sure these rounds meet IDPA power factor and with 3.8 its kinda iffy.

I just do 4 grains, at 3.8 grains the smoke is quite bad.

I'm using 4.2 gr of Titegroup with the AIM 124gr bullet, getting a 135 power factor for IPSC. I've found that most of the 124's I have are actually 122gr. My 124 CMJ Frontier uses 4.0gr of Titegroup for a 131 PF

ok i know they can go fast the issue is not how much powder to get them there and not destroy my CZ :p

With your current load, what power factor are you getting now?
Since most powders (and Titegroup) are linear, you can extrapolate what your powder charge will need to be to make a given power factor from your existing data.
Target power factor/actual power factor X charge weight in grains = charge weight to make target factor.
So if for example you are making say, 122, then plug it in thus:
130/122 X 3.8 = 4.0 grains to make 130 pf.

At the pressures you are dealing with you will have no worries about damaging your gun.

Are you at recommended OAL = 1.100? I load AIM 124gr for my Shadow at 1.090, so I stick with 3.8gr TGR - even though its quite sooty at 3.8, as others had mentioned. I don't know the PF but the felt recoil is very soft, I suspect it won't make it even for minor...

I'm also using 4.2gr Titegroup for 124gr AIM RN with an OAL of 1.120" producing an average of 1120fps.
BUT my 9mm has a bore of 0.357!

3.8 of Titegroup won't make 125 PF. I load 4.2 gr to get AVG of 133 with a Standard deviation of 12 over my Chrony. I like to be a bit over so I never have to worry about facing a Chrono at a match. Gun is my CZ85 Combat.

I was pushing 124gr frontiers with 4.2-4.3 of titegroup. I just broke open the box of 124gr round nose aim bullets I bought a year or so ago, they should be good to go with up to 4.4gr... however i'm having some issues with them getting stuck in the seating die.

What is the make of your seating die. IF it is a Dillon you might want to reverse the seater plug.
