Loading for 577 Snider

Hello All, been a hot minute since I last posted

I was just held hostage, arm twisted, and forced to purchase a Snider (thank you Lou!)

I've loaded for 577-450MH for almost 2 years now, fired hundreds of rounds and really enjoy that.

On the way is the X-Ring services 0.600 430 SWC mold and some brass for it. This promps a few questions;

The brass will be sized for a 577 bullet, which is not going to work with my mold until it's fire formed. How do y'all go about forming it if you don't have any 577 diameter anything? (or even close, my nearest is 475 for MH - edit: I have 490RB and .500 lee REAL too, think that'd work?)

Second, anyone have a pet load for this bullet yet? I know several of you have the bigger one - loads for those might be close?

I used a .54 cal Minnie bullet. Powder coated twice to increase the dia. Lubed and loaded it over 55 grs of FFg. Filled the case with cream of wheat to take up the space. I used a newspaper wad between the powder & C of W.
Worked for me!

I’ll second the .54 Minnie ball. Certainly worked for me until fire formed.
