I learned that reducing the charge I was using, raised the POI from what I had previously experienced.
I was advised, by a more learned friend, that the lighter load allowed the recoil to raise the muzzle, before the bullet exited the barrel, due to the lowers fps.
Increased the charge I was using and things returned to normal.

Today I dug out my Star B 9mm and shot it for fun. I used two types of ammo I had on the bench. Bother were loads that were favourite loads in several other pistols. In my log book I will find what the "favourite" load with this pistol is, but today I just shot what was handy.

These two targets illustrate why I say you should try your pistol with different loads. It will probably show a preference. I have one pistol that shoots everything quite well, and another that, so far, is mediocre to poor with everything. All the others will shoot well with something. (I am talking about over 100 pistols. A statistically valid sample).

The 3.0 Comp is 3.0 of Ramshot Competition, a fast shotgun powder, similar to TiteGroup. This is a mild load that works well in my 1911s.

The 4.2B is a mild load of a non-canister powder, similar in speed to Power Pistol. It works best in a number of my pistols. But not the Star, apparently.

I recycle my office paper, after it has been printed on both sides. It makes good targets.
