Bit the bullet and bought one. A lefthanded remington LSS with a nice muzzle brake on it (thank God). Looking for some loads you guys might have tried.
Thanks.
Congrats on the purchase. I have the same gun (including LH) but without the brake. The most accurate load for me so far has been 96.6 grs of Retumbo pushing a 180 gr Barnes TSX with Federal primers. Shoots just over an inch at 100 yards with my gun.
US 869(just like H870) from Hodgdon meters well in a powder measure and works well in that caliber as does Retumbo. Tried 190 Sierra matchkings for precision and 200 Sierra SBT for moose hunting. Got about a 4" group doing snaps @ 500 with the 190's in a 700P. Honest moa with the sbt.
Great info, thanks guys! I've seen a lot of retumbo loads. Seems very popular. I'm thinking a 165 grain Tripleshok would be a very good all around bullet. But that 180gr Accubond at 3350fps sounds very very good too.
