Anxious to try her out, and I have a few loads contrived, just want a sanity check for others who have shot this round.

For 120 and 140gr bullets. I prefer Hodgdon.

I have loaded for it's smaller brother, the 264. Mag-Pro and Magnum were the best I found.Hogdgon's US-869 and Retumbo would be the only one's slow enough. I haven't tried US-869,but Retumbo didn't work for me.

I helped my dad load some 6.5 x300 Weatherby mag back in the 90's which may not be the one you are looking for.I will have to make some calls to my brother and see if he still has the data.

I am just curious, how much more oomph is this wildcat supposed to have over the .264 Win Mag?

With powders not available in the heyday of the 264 WM (a short time in the 1960's), you can now get what they advertized back then - 3200 fps with 140's, 3350 fps with 130's and 3450 with 120's.

The 6.5/300 WM has about 9% more case capacity, so should better the 264 WM numbers by about 50-75 fps, or match the 264 WM numbers at lower pressure - whatever you prefer.
