I was wondering if anyone in the Ottawa area could help me
I want to have 2x M14 gas cylinder unitized.
Prefer that a gun nut, and ideally someone with experience in this department do the job.
Looking for someone available driving distance, and will probably have a gas cylinder to unitize every few months as i'll be setting rifles for friends also.

They are in Newmarket ON.

I have sent gas systems to him in the past, very good work.

I have had bad experiences with "local" welders who say they can do the job, but "f" it up anyway, even after I have provided jigs and detailed instructions with pictures.....

Yes thanks for the hint, Casey has threaded chokes for me in the past great experience.
I guess for the shipping charge both ways it might be worth having a job spot on.
Now to ask him how much he'll charge me

I charge $125. Last I checked Casey was less.

Just out of curiosity, how much were you expecting to spend?

I charge what I do because of the costs associated..... I'll break them down for you;

Custom jig, $150ea (lasts for about 10-15 weld jobs) I have 4 of them. So call it $10/ weld job.
20 min prep (on my end) $25
I drive to the welders house and drop off the gas system(s) (I usually do this in batches of 4). $5
My welder charges me $75 for the welding, which I am happy to pay!

So my total cost is $115, I charge $125.

If it weren't for the cost of shipping back and forth, Casey would get all of my gas systems.
