so i have these cool lock bar rear sights and i'm really not a garand guy ..... i mean i like them...... but i like the m14 more hehehe (i know wrong forum for that comment LOL )
so i swapped out a g.i. m14 rear sight for one of these lock bars as I like that feature for packing her in the bush hunting.....
the spare lock bar set is from what i can tell by researching on the net, a type II as the lock bar itself has the straight cuts on the underside of the ends whereas i believe the type III lock bar had curved cuts.
the elevation knob has "battle range" with the triangle. , base has the following marking on the underside, OMB3
can anyone give me an idea as to what the OMB3 designates ..... and possibly a value of such a set? I see them listing on ebay for 250 to 295 USD
. function is excellent, finish is 99% all around..... with the only wear to the original finish being the tops of the sight ears are a bit shiny. I'll probably end up listing this set for trade for a genuine m14 rear sight set but we'll see.
