Lone Star commemorative value

A friend of mine has a chance to buy a Winchester Lone Star 94 in 30-30, half round, half octagon barrel. Never fired with box. I know the negatives about commemoratives, just would like a ball park $$ that he should pay.

My half-informed guess, based on what they seem to go quickly for, when advertised in the EE is: $1000

I would have said $1200 last year, but those seemed to last a long time on the EE

Firearms for sale had 1 for sale @$800. In US 650-800. If I was buying for myself (??? Why) 800 would be max. To resell 600. Lots of good shooting 30-30s for under 400.
