Long Branch No.4 de-bubbafication

Well here is my most recent shot at milsurp de-bubbafication. It’s a nice clean 1944 Long Branch No.4 Mk.1* that came to me with a sporter stock and a few other bits from longbranch* (thanks Geoff!). I ended up using almost all of the last of my stash of Long Branch parts but it was well worth it. All I need now is a LB marked foresight protector and front hand guard as the only ones I found were Brit. This one is going to be for my 2 1/2 year old son to go with his .22 CNo.7!

Give him half a year or so and then break out the CNo.7, I started with a .22 at the age of 3 ;)

Might want to wait a little longer before breaking out that .303 british though ;)

When is bubba going to learn that if he wants his handiwork to be permanent, he has to cut the barrel and alter the receiver.

I had considered changing to a “boot” style safety lever BUT this one is LB marked so left it in place. The rifle doesn’t appear to have been FTR’ed but does however have an “ENGLAND” sale mark just above the serial number. I also had to use a milled center barrel band which would be more correct on a 1942 but all the serial numbers match and other than the afore mentioned Brit. Parts she is all Long Branch. It feels good knowing I’ll pass along not only a nice piece of Canadian history but a piece I helped return to her former glory.

If that safety is LB marked it's the one from a 41 or 42 Long Branch, as you probably know.
 
dont want to hijack the thread -- but the nice pictures reminded me of a question

what is the value of a very good longbranch Mk 4 number 1 with bayonet and scabbard - friend of mine had it forever. bore very very good, wood good and dark, all matching. the friend's relative used to use it in his school training in jamaica. I guess ther eis some sort of additonal vernier type sight also.

any help?
 
Where can you find info on all the markings? and proof marks, etc??
I found some basic stuff regarding which factories, but nothing on barrel, trigger etc markings.

any help would be great. :)
