Long Branch No.4's at PS Militaria

Yes he is. How many Long Branch No4s has he had in the last two years? There are restored ones in the EE right now at $700+. Like it or not things are getting way more expensive. A nice collector condition (even as issued) LB No4 is tough to find right now. I'm afraid the days of $350 VG condition as sold out of service LB No4s floated three years ago. Glad I got mine when I did.

But then you see sometimes nice LB's sitting on the EE for a few bumps at around the 500 mark before someone will grab it. Now I'm not disagreeing that prices will continue to rise, but I can't help but wonder how many people are playing up the hype a bit to much to make theirs more valuable...My prediction? these shooter grade LB's wont move at that price, maybe if they were unissued 1950's but not for what they are, could always be wrong though.

3 years ago Jean was selling Indian surplus LBs for $350. They featured a variety of parts, but once you got the grunge off and refitted them with correct LB parts they came out very nicely. After the crud came off the metal finish was very nice. Barrels, bolts, and a number of other key parts were original LB and the bores were sound. They made a nice basis for a restoration project. I don't think I would be ready to bite on one for $800 though. Maybe I'm dating myself, but when I started out LBs were selling for $12 to $18 a pop.

I just bought one off a CGNer who purchased it from P&S and didn't shoot it. It still has all the packing grease on it and is in amazing condition. Definitely never saw combat. Gonna take me a few hours to get it all cleaned up but I ll post some pics after I do. The wood is beautiful.

(This was advertised as Indian surplus)

Us LB fans will be looking forward to you photo's being posted, always great to see before and after pictures .

I've always been a huge enfield fan. Even as a kid. I bought into the long branch hype after handling one (sporter) at a store in Hamilton a few weeks ago. The machining looks nicer than my fazakerky no4 I had. That sporter was priced at $400+ so I didn't walk out with it. But definitely set me on a mission lol

This thing is gonna see a TON of cast boolits :D

I recall them at $29.95....
Barrels of them out on the sidewalk in front of a army surplus store at Queen & Bathurst in Toronto

Man that must have been a while ago if they were doing that in Toronto!!!! Imagine the look on peoples faces now if they walked past a barrel of rifles out on the street!

I recently bought a 1949 Long Branch on Gunbroker and imported it using Irunguns. Total cost to get it in my hands was under $600. It's barely used. Only negative is the CAI marking by the muzzle. Willl have to get some photos posted soon.

It was circa 1976-78.

King Sol's Surplus... Queen St just east of Bathurst.

prices are only going up

Jean has always been fair to deal with in my opinion.

$850 seems a bit more then what I would want to pay but if those are warstock and basically new then they are worth more then your run of the mill LB that you see.

Yeah there basically isn't a nick or sent on the wood anywhere on mine. Headspace a good with a #1 bolt head and a mint shiny bore. Also came with matching bayo. And it's not FTRed
