Hi everyone, I recently acquired a Long Branch No4 Mk1*. The seller described the rifle believing the wood to be original. Upon receiving the rifle I noticed a few things.

The rifle has a Mk1 sight with a F stamped on it, I suspect this means that it's a Fazakerley-made sight that was later added to the rifle.
The rifle's fore end has a non-matching SN. The buttstock area behind the trigger also has an F stamped on it (F for Fazakerley?).
The magazine is not matching either. That said, the bolt and receiver do match. However, the rifle's receiver does not have the usual FTR markings from Fazakerley.

Do you peeps think it's possible my rifle underwent an FTR/refurb for its stock at Fazakerley without this being mentioned on the receiver? Perhaps a field conversion or repair? Or is this more likely just someone's desporterization project?

Cheers
