I have 2 firearms made at Long Branch that do pop up every once and a while ...2 H + R pieces one is a single shot shotgun the other is a 5 shot bolt action repeater ..I used to work in the area of LB and was able to talk to a few ppl that worked there back in the day .they said that Because H+ R were up here working with CAL on the FN project and because the arsenal was winding down between using up parts and repairing No 4s and waiting for FNs to begin production that H+R had them build these firearms as CAL was kinda slow ....a good way to keep ppl employed....I have absolutely no proof but it makes sense .I also remember them saying they worked on the Rem nylon 66 and on M14 barrels and stocks ...again i have no proof except i have seen Nylon66 with made in canada on the barrel. As an aside again back in the day while exploring the old CAL rifle range i found literally hundreds of 12 Ga shotshell bases in and around the creek by the fence that seperated the range from the buildings.they did a massive cleanup when they opened the range to the public as a bike path hard to find anything these days i have a small box of stuff i found including a rusty old syitling trigger housing .If anyone has any info on these rifles and shotguns id love to read it
