Brit No 9 bayonet but it does have Long Branch 1943 on the receiver as you see near the bottom picture.
I kind of like it.

I saw a similar rifle last year at the Calgary show. It was a Savage mind you. I actually meant to go back and make an offer on it at the end of the show, but forgot.

In my day, the guideline was that you had better be under that rifle before it reached the ground.

I saw the odd time where the bayonets found their way to places it didn't belong, especially on parades with the shorter C-7s. I remember in Cypress where a member of 2VP grinned and bared it for the rest of the parade. On dismissal, the RSM ordered him to get over to the medics. It was most impressive.

Looking back at that photo, it looks like slippy hands still has his scabbard on his bayonet, while his neighbor is going commando with his. Good decision.
