Here's the text before it disappears...... wish I knew better how to snag the photos!
This is NOT a Firearm or Gun that can shoot a projectile or be made to shoot a projectile, is a non functioning TRAINING Rifle. Please note has a Bright red muzzle marking identifying it as a non functioning rifle
Here we have a RARE find and that would be a WWII Canadian Training rifle made at the Long Branch arsenal and dated 1943. This was a training Rifle for the British No. 4 Mark 1 which was the main rifle used by Canadian troops during WWII. I have read that only a few thousands of these training rifles were ever made with many destroyed after the war. Is a full size rifle and duplicates the feel and handling of the real thing. Bolt [which looks like it might actually be an old SMLE's] works like a real rifle, opens and closes and cocks the rifle. Pull the trigger and it clicks. Trigger is a bit hard and sometimes you have to squezze it a couple times. I have read that the spring loaded buttplate has to be depressed in order for the trigger to work but doesn't seem to affect anything on this one. Wood stock is fine with no damage such as cracks, splis or repairs, has the initials WW carved in sssmall letters on the right side by the buttplate. minor. Top hand guard has a slight upward sweep at the rear and a couple hairlines that don't appear to be doing anything, but again minor. All metal parts have thier original blued finish. very clean with not much loss and then only on the buttplate assembly. looks to be missing the sights and the dummy magazine. front sight looks to have been cut off.....Really an interesting WWII Canadian Item as well as an Enfield Rifle piece that has a great look about it I think...I know you will like this one!...Starting auction off low with no reserve and as always actual postage charged depending on where you live [weighs just over 8lbs boxed to ship]...No forign buyers
