hello everyone, i just recived my savage 10 fcm scout chambered in 308 win. a gem of a rifle. all steel construction aside from the stock. just got back from my range at 50 yards with iron sights i was getting 1/2 inch groups. but anyways i wanted to get some glass to put on it, nothing really pricey around 200 bucks. just something that will get the job done. thanks.

Cabelas.ca lists the new Weaver K4 Scout (4x28mm) for $249.99 new. That has a lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. Burris and Leupold make Scout scopes with fixed power under 3x and I don't think they are any cheaper. If the magnification is enough, the Leupold makes sense used because their warranty is valid on used scopes, too. Not sure about Burris on that point but I think their quality is good enough.

How much do you give Ellwood for one? I'm going to the new Cabela's in Saskatoon today, hope to get a look at/through a K4 Scout.

They had at least one, on display. I already knew I like the modern Weaver K series - I have a K4 and a K6 - now I know their K4 Scout will do for my project, if I can find a suitable mount.
