hi out there i was wondering if anybody knew the current status of the long gun registy some people told me it was gone but i dont think so

It's still in place.

A bill was introduced in the house, C-391 to abolish the long gun registry, has passed second reading and is currently before the House committee.

Once through committee it returns to the House of Commons for a third vote, and if passed moves up to the Senate.

In the Senate it will under go first reading, second reading, committee, third reading, and if it passes all the stages will go for Royal assent to become law.

I wouldn't expect that to happen until the fall at the earliest.
