Sorry if this information is already located here somewhere, but I couldn't find it ....

I am trying to help a Nebraska friend restore a "sporterized" MLM (commercial-production LSA MkII) and he is looking for a full-length fore-stock, handguards, long-range sight dial, barrel-band and nosecap .... yes, the same pieces everyone else in his boat wants!

I seem to recall some indication that reproduction wood might be available, at least. If so, can someone steer us in the right direction? Any ideas on the other hens-teeth and rocking-horse droppings he seeks?

Not sure GrantR if you got your answer to your question but I'd like to know about any reproduction forends too so I'm reviving this post. Any help guys would be appreciated

Maybe if we can get enough people together, someone who has a duplicator may speak up

There us someone on this forum with a duplicator which may be doing a run of stocks in the near future. I'll let them speak up if they choose to.

Biggest problem with a duplicator is finding a suitable stock to duplicate, and of course getting properly seasoned wood. The inletting could take quite a bit of work but I'd be willing to do it if repros are available.

Sorry, I neglected to update this thread.....

There are a couple of chaps in New Norway, Alberta, who are already set up to do Long Lee stocks (also Ross, and others, of course) which they describe as "rough finish and about 95% inletted". Their usual price for most full length military stocks and stock sets (including a full set for an SMLE) is $275.

Long Lee stock components are priced individually as follows:
Forearm - $150.00
Butt stock - $60.00
Hand guard - $40.00
(Their forearm pattern has the clearing rod groove which is normally duplicated, but it can be omitted if you have a MLE MkI* to replace the wood on.)

SMLE hand guard set (both parts) - $110.00

They have no website, but a contact e-mail address is rbweld (at) syban (dot) net.

No, unfortunately I haven't seen any of their work.

However, I just ordered a Long Lee hand guard from them ..... Ironically, my various inquiries on behalf of my American friend resulted in my acquiring an 1895 Sparkbrook MLM MKII*. It has its complete forearm and nosecap (with volley sight dial) but is missing the hand guard ....

Thanks for the info Grant!

I think I'm going to have to order a forearm for my 1900 Mk1* long lee. I just got a nosecap in the mail so all it needs is a middle band and Its good to go.

I've got several projects on the go.

I just need to source a stock for them to make copies... I have a LEC and a metford carbine both have cut down stocks.... Nose caps are goint to be a problem too....

As indicated, Alberta Gun Stocks are already set up to make these components, but if somebody else wants to "re-invent the wheel" I suppose it could provide more options for us ..... and perhaps the competition would also help prices to some extent.

In any event, the full contact information I have for the chaps in Alberta is as follows:

Glad to have helped you out Grant.I have posted the contact info for these guys many times. If we don't support the people that at least try to supply the bits and pieces that we need what's the point?

Thanks for the information Grant.
Just sent them an email for details on how to purchase a set.
I believe this may be the savior for many sportered MLMs and MLEs :)

Cheers,
Peter

Hi I've dealt with them and they display a lot of talent and drive. They both work in the oil patch[ but are endevering to deliver a good product to the military collectors. Worth every centQUOTE=kevwat;9755383]Beauty! Nice score on that one[/QUOTE]

Beauty! Nice score on that one

Yes, I want to get it restored so I can use it in place of the much nicer Magazine Lee-Enfield MkI* rifle I have, which I have been "beating up" in Victorian-era "military action shooting" -

(This actually a London Small Arms commercial-production rifle for sale to service rifle target shooters and the like. The above photos show it with the Sutherland Rifle Sight Co. rear target sight it came equipped with .... Much too fine a sight picture for "action shooting" so I replaced it with the standard military sight seen in the first image....)
