Once I determine how to attach a pic (seems I don't have permission yet) I will re-post. I'm planning on selling an 1896 BSA " L.E. I.", Long Lee. It has sharp "M&D" marks, the wood is in good shape, all sights are attached, however the bolt is not matching. How do I post pics? Thanks, Dave.

Can't help you in posting pics, wish i could, but my neibour brought one recenly and payed a grand for it, it was for sale at 1200, and all matching including the long range volly sights

These are prices predominantly meant for the American market. They are however a decent indicator of price range. I have sold a few of these rifles. In fact one quite similar to yours. Your rifle should disappear at $750.-, if you're in a hurry.

Of course the price guide is going to be regional and it's out of date before it hits the market.

Now one reason they are rare. They were also issued in World War ONE. then we have the folks who "sportyized" lots of them.

Now for my 2p for whatever it's worth, AT LEAST $900 PLUS
