Auctions, museums anything. I know it is a long shot, but there was that Auction last year that had an EM2 and an AMT so you never know!

I have knowledge of 2 auctions, one in september that went for close to 300k, and one in 2012 that went for 150k. There was another in 2008 that went for 150k as well. There were 4 sold in Malta recently for 75k€ each (about 100k US).

in know of two that were for trade a number of years ago ...he wanted a Mag 58 he would trade one of the two for it your choice ..the fg42s were CA's.....dont know if he still has one

The guy posting all that stuff on here a few months ago from the Van Doo museum in Quebec City (La Citadelle) mentioned FG42s for sure. Plural, as I recall. You would also have nothing to lose talking to the CWM but I can't imagine you'd pry anything loose from them.

I've seen the repo FG42's in Canada but haven't seen any originals here in person yet.

The U.S. prices are completely different because the examples bringing crazy money are properly papered machine guns legal for any properly licensed American to own. As Canadians, the prices of full-autos in the United States have nothing in common with full autos here.

If I were to take a guess, I think a full auto FG42 (if any still exist in grandfathered collections) wouldn't be worth more than 5k-8k at auction in Canada and would probably resurface as a DEWATT from a grandfathered business such as collectors source with an asking price of about double that.

I imagine a DEWATT FG42 if listed on CGN might go for 6k to 8k if listed on the EE.

These are just total guesses though, without any sort of consideration to previous recorded sales in Canada (I personally don't have any).

And for anyone looking at this thread wondering what an FG42 is:

If you aren't strictly looking for an original SMG guns is producing them stateside but doesn't think the Canadian market is worth going through the BATF paperwork to export to us - bugging them might eventually result in them coming here.

Thanks for the info guys. I am more looking for info on 12(2) classed FG42s that have been up for sale or auction anytime in the last 10 years.

Didn't someone have one on the EE about 6 months or so ago? I remember it was listed with a number of other guns, a couple pics were eventually put with it, bumped a number of times, but no price on it, just make an offer. Anyone else remember this?

None that I can think of off hand although I recall the ad mentioned above as well, without a price attached. It may have been CA. If you are trying to put a price on one and not track one down, I would use the EM2 prices (two 12(2) Canadian examples of which have moved in the past year for ~11k at auction and 5k privately) as a fair comparison. But you could also just pull a number out of a hat, which appears to be the typical way of pricing 12(2) guns lately.
