Lots to choose for phone software - if that's your preferred route get something that works with Brian Litz's data - these are great for matches. Personally I use a Kestrel with integrated ATrag - I prefer this kind of unit for hunting since it doesn't go dead the next day.

You can buy the atrag right from horus.com but I believe that the program and the pda cost about $400. Some post ot if it can be found for cheaper.

ATRS sells them, battery life probably a year, cost between $500-$700 depending on options. I picked up mine directly from Kestrel. The more I use it the more I like it.

Ballistic FTE by JBM is the best one I've found. I use it in my iphone.

The atrag is definitely pricey compared to an app. If you take the time to input your rifles load and average the muzzle velocity on different temperature days and reach out there and true your drops it is unreal. If your going to get into real long range shooting you are going to need the weather anyways - if you want to get on target the first try anyway. I have one and its awesome.

shooter ballistics for android works just perfectly for me, it also calculates coriolis effects and spin drift factors,I paid $10.99 for it from android market ( they call google play now ), like it!
