hey their

i would like to get into precision shooting ( when i get some more cash of course) and i was wondering if their was any good places to shoot. last year i was a member of osgc but they only have 300 yards. ive heard of this place called milcum but i was wondering if anyone can join it? it looks like an awsome place but i couldnt find any info on joining it. its not that far from me only about an hour and twenty mintues.

any suggestions for other clubs?

thanx
matt

I would suggest contacting the ORA, but their website lists three clubs;

ontariorifleassociation.org/

Mons Club
Cedar Springs Rifle Club
Winona Rifle Club

As far as Milcun is concerned, I believe that is the training facility only, and not a public range, but I could stand to be corrected. You might try contacting Keith directly;

The ORA also shoots at Kingston out to 600 yards. I understand the NCRRA will be reverting back to it's old name. National Defence Head Quarters Rifle Asssociation or NDHQRA for short. Shooting out to 900m. Pistol, shotgun sections. Even Black powder out to 900m.

Our club is having problems at the Winona range it seems most of our vintage military rifles will not be allowed due to cal and bullet wieght restrictions .most of my guys with long range target rifles are also out of luck (including myself) we may have to skip this year to sort things out .they are trying to template our rifles but all the info I sent them last year was lost when the RO left .I went from having 35 guys shooting last year to 6 willing to commit this year it may be the end of Wentworth Vintage Rifle Assn. to bad it was a good long run .

I shoot with a friend at Silverdale from time to time. Its nice spot (and improving a lot lately under new management) but I think the longest range is only 200 yds.

:eek: Did Doug sell the place? Who's the new management?

Remember guys all are welcome to come out to Milcun on April 14th for Pratice Cost is $25 for non members and we will be shooting out to 600Meters!

I will be there and bring a few newbies out too!!

I'd come to meet you all, but I'll be in Vegas that day. I hope to go shoot a few FAs while there though ;)

re: april 14 practice day at milcun...i'm a noob without a rifle yet. would someone like myself be welcome to come by and learn and maybe fire a few rounds from an instructors rifle? who would i get in touch with ?

thanks

Where do you live

MJCurry
Where abouts do you live. There are guys at our club that go to Base Borden and I know it stretches out to 1000 yds. I havn't been out to it yet but my rifle has.
Not sure on the ins and outs of getting in but I believe the guys using it (non military) are ORA members , I think thats how they get access. One shooter at the club i talk with goes monthly and has invited me, if i get details i'll post em but you should ask the ORA if they have info.

Operational Shooting Association is based at Milcun. OSA ATTs are valid for CFO and DND ranges. Milcun is a private facility, near Kinmount, ON. Keith and Linda offer various training courses there.
