Hello everybody, In Alberta where would a guy hook with some other people who could show, give a test drive and give some training on the growing sport of long range shooting.
My Schedule is spotty, I'm an Oilfield guy who comes and goes,, I know that sounds funny!!!!!! Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Do your self a favor and buy The ultimate sniper(if you dont have it already). Get the updated and expanded version. It is worth the money you pay, I have it and very interesting to read. I got it of eBay and it came out of Ontario.

Do you presently have a PAL? Do you own a rifle now? Also, do you belong to a gun club? There may be someone at your local club who would do coaching for a fee.

If you don't have a PAL, taking the PAL course and getting one is your first step.

I agree that the Alberta Provincial Rifle Association is worth checking out. They hold "entry day" shoots for people starting in long range shooting. The people running those shoots will be very experienced and knowledgeable in target shooting. Their web site is: http://w w w.albertarifle.com/default.htm. However, I am not sure of the status of their shoots at the Homestead range. Apparently the road to that range was washed out recently.

Another place to check is http://w w w.practicalmarksmanship.com. They run entry level marksmanship courses. I have not taken one of their courses myself, but it seems they are in line with what you want.
