If you are interested to learn to shoot Long Range with Accuracy & Precision and to engrain fundamentals, unlearn bad habits that hold you back from being better, learn to develop your own elevation regardless of distance, learn Ballistic Solvers and create a Gun/Bullet profile, and learn Secondary Effects, and Mirage & Wind out to 1000 yards, please have a look at this Series of courses below.

Long Range Rifle Fundamentals Course - Part 1 (7 + 8 June)

This course is about the Fundamentals that you need to learn and master to shoot long range with precision and accuracy. This is the basis for shooting Long Range and must be taught first. It is for New or lightly experienced shooters, or shooters that need to remove bad habits to progress. A large percentage of the work a Long Range Shooter does is at 100 yards, such as zero, scope ladder tests, scope box tests, ammo development etc. This is because there is little wind to skew results, and no real secondary effects to influence your results.
If you want to shoot Long Range or compete in matches, but need knowledge and experience of Long Range Fundamentals, then this is a good course for you. Fundamentals are what all skills and experience are built on top of and learning them will give you a solid foundation for Parts 2 & 3 of this course to shoot out to 1000 yards.
Set up of your rifle, ammo, scope, trigger, bipod, rear bag, recoil management, sight picture, safety, and Long Range Fundamentals are taught on this course. The aim will be to train shooters to be able to consistently shoot on demand, 5 round groups of 1 MOA or less, regardless of conditions, which is a general requirement of most long range matches.

Long Range Rifle Fundamentals Course - Part 2 (200-500 yards) 5 + 6 July

This Part 2 course is about Elevation, and how to generate elevation firing solutions for any distance using a Ballistic Solver and hit your target, and to shoot long range with accuracy and precision. Wind 1 and Mirage 1 are covered to help with DOPE (Data Obtained from Previous Engagement) for the 200 – 500 yards Distances. The aim will be to train shooters to be able to generate their own elevation dope to be accurate for the distance appropriate to their gun/ammo/scope combination regardless of conditions, and to start to read wind and mirage at level 1.
Attendance of Part 1 of this course is a requirement. If you feel you don’t need to do part 1 because of your experience, please email me.
You will learn how to use Ballistic Solvers (either with a Kestrel or the AB Quantum App on your smart phone) to generate very accurate elevation.
Coach Sammy teaches long range shooting in 3 parts, using the acronym FEW.
FEW stands for Fundamentals, Elevation, Wind. 3 Subjects over 3 courses that will enable you to shoot accurately out to 1000 yards with the right rifle, ammo, and scope.
This course is aimed at Shooters that can shoot 1 MOA or less consistently and want to shoot long range or compete in long range matches but need knowledge and experience and be able to generate Elevation for any distance.
Also covered on this course:
- Ballistic Solvers (i.e. Kestrel or AB Quantum App) and creating gun profiles, and ballistic firing solutions, and then shooting those distances to confirm them.
- Wind 1 and Mirage 1 are covered relating to the distances.
- Muzzle breaks / tuners, pre shot routines, mental checklist, recoil management, sight picture, and furthering of long range fundamentals are built upon the previous course - Part 1. This is applicable to competition and hunting.

Long Range Rifle Fundamentals Course - Part 3 - 600-1000 yards (30 + 31 Aug)

This Part 3 course is about Wind Effects, Mirage, Elevation and secondary effects. Wind is the big one. You can learn wind for years and still be learning, and this 2 day course will give you a good foundation. Attendance of Part 2 of this course is a requirement. If you feel you don’t need to do part 2 because of your experience, please email me.
The difference between top shooters when all else is equal with equipment and skills, is the ability to read and call wind. Yes, you can use a Kestrel weather meter to give you a good bracket based on wind direction, target direction, and all the secondary effects, but it stills involves you making choices.
The aim of this course will be to further your ability to generate your elevation at longer distances, increase your understanding of the secondary effects on your projectile (aerodynamic jump, spin drift and Coriolis effect) learn Mirage 2, Wind 3, and where wind has the most effect on your projectile, and how fickle wind can be. You will learn how to use Ballistic Solvers intermediate level (i.e. Kestrel or AB Quantum App) and calculate for target direction, wind direction, wind speed, secondary effects and learn about calibrating your muzzle MV and other calibrations to make your Ballistic solver extremely accurate.
