Long Range Shooting in Lower Mainland

Longest range in BC with a butts system (at the moment) that I know of is Vokes.

Hoping to have 800m here in Kamloops next year.

Your next best bet would be a ranged out cut block or power line.

Cmon guys share your secret long range spots and I'll bring the super gong!

Heres what I'd do. I would go to the BC forest office. Buy their maps to the area I was interested in, to make sure theres roads into it. Backroad map books are good too. Google earth it to see if there are any new cut block prospects. Google earth even has a ruler that shows you the distances in yards or miles. Take a weekend and go scouting. Know whats behind where your shooting!! No kids camp or logging crews or something.
I ensure I have 3 mile empty template behind the target for 308s and 5 miles for 50cal.
Invite a few people to shoot with you.

I was just outside agassiz yesterday deer hunting. The weather turned crappy, so I decided it waqs ok to make some noise. I was in a cut block that was longer than any other i had ever been in. There was at least 1 km I could see in a straight line with no risk of shooting over roads, or being a risk to anyone else out there. I was all alone, nobody ner me at all.
Range finder used, 300, 400, 500 yard targets; and there was still way more room behind those I could have set more targets up.
Dont forget your range finder and spotting scope.

Got a super secret place up at stave lake ranged it up to 1.2 KM away. But of course I am not going to tell:p

I can't wait till the snows deep enough to snowmobile across log slashes. Makes all these un walkable slashes or sinky bogs easy. Opens up a whole new game.
