Svc,
The Swiss do put on a good lunch at Borden. I also hear that some of the Service Condition matches and at Milcun the BBQ's are almost as important as the match itself.
I will admit that there is a free lunch at the ORA council meetings. It is the least they can do after driving 3.5 hours each way for a meeting 3 times a year. The ORA does not pay for gas for me to attend these meeting, it comes out of my pocket
Since you seem to be new to the ORA I will explain a few things.
Your "Activity Fee" pays for range rental at Cedar Springs and Winona. It also pays the the beach sentries that are required. This fee also pays for the Range Officer at Borden. (he does not do this because he is a nice guy

)
The target frames that are at Borden and Cedar Springs are owned and maintained by the ORA. The wind flags are also ORA property. With the exception of the military target faces, all Target Rifle/F class competition target faces are purchased by the ORA through the DCRA.
Now Svc, as far as my knowledge goes...
A. Check out the ORA results on the web page and you will see how much I shoot. ( you won't have to guess my name

)
B. Yep, I am a newbie. I have only been shooting with the ORA for 14 years, so I am still learning.
C. I will be glad to give you lessons, again look at the results page.
D. Free lunch at Bisley? A trip to Bisley to shoot on the Canadian team will cost between $4500-$5000 out of your own pocket. So where is the free lunch here?
I hope this cleared up any misconceptions you may have about the ORA and it's activities, Bisley, and MY knowledge about shooting at Mons.
