Does anyone here shoot a 34 or 35 regularly? I own a 17 and 21c and was thinking about adding a 34 to the mix just for giggles. Really is there even any notable difference between a 17 and a 34? Also will the 34 fit a standard 17 holster?

Ask Steve David, he has gone full circle and is back to a Glock 34 as of last week. Last time I saw him shoot IDPA with his Sig his holes were touching so if the Glock 34 is better I guess we will be seeing only one hole on his targets.

I've had some degree of success with my G17, but with the G19 for some reason I've had great success. I've since sold the G17 and exclusively shoot the G19. Just yesterday I've picked up a G34 because I too was curious about it. The difference aside from the length is that it comes with adjustable sights, extended controls, ported slide (but the barrel is not ported), and factory 3.5 lb trigger. I'll update this thread as soon as I get a chance to shoot it.

I have a 34 and with my 6-port comp barrell :D:D shoots like a .22 lol all day

I shoot my 17 like a .22 so I can only imagine a ported 34 would be a lightweight shooter for sure..

Is it a storm lake barrel? Can you post a picture of it in the gun? Im curious to see what the 6 port one looks like... I can't picture where the ports line up.

I'm curious myself. I think the 6 port is an extended barrel which means 4 of the ports line up the with slide and the other 2 are extended out further than the slide itself. Kind of like an extended ported barrel for the subcompact glocks.

PS Please post pics. I am only assuming these things.

I have had both the 34 and 17. I like the 34 and I have a 35 also, better than the 17 for games as you have a longer sight radius and the gun seems less flippy than the 17 when shooting.

However, the 34 is not Production legal in Canada under IPSC rules so I got a 17.

BTW, the cut in the top of the slide on the 34 and 35 is to help equalize the weight difference between the 4.5" slide of the 17 and 5.3" slide on the 34. It is not a port in the compensation sense, but you can buy aftermarket barrels which take advantage of this opening on the 34/35 Glocks.

Does it require more cleaning with the ported barrel? I was thinking I was going to pick one up for it. But not a 6 port just standard length 4 port.

Yes, the front sight I have upgraded to fiber from dawson precision, well, 4 shot and its BLACK!!!

LOL but since i use it for Open class IPSC, I have a Burris Quickfire reflex mounted on the frame instead of the adjustable rear sight, works fine.

as for cleaning the insides, mo more than a regular G17.

OK found out how to upload some old pics i have. (before the sight upgrade)

You can shoot the 34 under "Standard" Class in Canada :D
