Anyone having any trouble getting a long term ATT for AB and BC this year? Seems they have a new policy about not giving multi province ATT's here now but if you sweat talk them just right and show that you go to service rifle shoots in both they might still do it for you ;)

Just got mine this month. No problems at all: All ranges, Territories and all Provinces west of Ont, border crossings and gunsmiths.

That's interesting... last week it was some sort of problem but I did get it after some talking with them about it and it's good till some time in 2009 which is nice. To start with they where telling me they can't do multi province any more... maybe they are just trying to thin out the guys that will not bother pushing for it?

I never asked for it. It was just the way it came.

Sounds like they were trying to shaft you. You think they did it because you've been moving back and forth to BC & back?:p

Well they did cancel my last long term without telling me because someone didn't like the fact that I had both a BC and Alberta residence listed on it. Stupid thining is they didn't notify me that they had cancelled it so all the BC shoots that I did this past year where done without a valid ATT  I had a paper copy that said I was good but the computer said I was screwed :runaway:

Bull####.

:mad:I spoke with the AB CFO today and the guy told me that they are no longer issuing out of province long-term ATT's unless you can prove:

1. Membership in an inter-provincial organization. (IPSC...etc.)
2. Membership at a range outside of your province.

He did tell me that the BC CFO was becoming more "restrictive" - whatever that means.

This sucks. My current ATT is good for all 3 Western Provinces, and since I'm moving - I have to renew.

Join the APRA, BCRA, or DCRA and it will cover you for multi province membership in Alberta, BC, and maybe the rest of the country in the case of the DCRA.

Well I just got my ATT, albeit three weeks late and it is good for all the Western Provinces and the Yukon so I doubt BC is getting more restrictive. Alberta guy is just being a jerk. son tells me it was explained to him that RCMP had complained folks were abusing the ATT by travelling with a handgun and claiming they were going to shoot in B.C. Ryan is going to join our club here in B.C. This is about the only club outside Alberta he shoots at other than Abbotsford once in awhile.

Take Care
