I picked up this old girl last week. She’s a matching ‘43 Longbranch. 2719DE34-F157-4049-AEB6-CA7F8FA03F58.jpg The sight is a PH 4 with an adjustable aperture and the front looks like a Lyman 17. It seems the action is bonded into the stock. I guess I’m wondering how difficult it is to make it into a repeater?

Numrich has new magazines way cheaper than the Sterling mags.

Look under the Indian A2 version. They're actually made for a No1 type action but will work with a No4

Around $75 each, delivered. No issues at the border. Very little fitting needed.

You may have trouble with the length of the ejector screw, on the left side, being to short to catch the edge of the case when the bolt is pulled back.

If you have the proper length extractor, it should push the case far enough to the left to allow the rim to catch the the ejector screw and with a non limp wrist pull of the bolt, should eject the spent case to the right.

I was told the former owner was a serious target shooter in the early 70’s. He cut it after he got some rust at the muzzle.

More likely that's the point his eyes could focus on the front sight and keep it sharp against his target bull or aiming point on the target.

ejector screw is missing.

I suspect that is a DCRA conversion that got chopped.

ejector screw was too long when the original Parker Hale (PH5C) site was removed

I had that rear sight on my No 9 .22 rifle.
I sold the rifle to a local guy who has passed away and I havent been able to track it down.
I have a 7.62 barrel in my shop that I was going to put on a No4 receiver.
I have to find it first.
