Does anyone know what the battle sight on a No4 Mk1* is typically regulated for?

I was shooting at 100 yds yesterday using the battle sight and all my rounds were high. Is the battle sight usually regulated for 2-300 yds?

Which sight are you using? The regular flip sight (stamped/machined) or the expedient 'L' type sight?

For some reason I get the impression you're using the 'L' I believe that 300 yrds is the larger one, the smaller aperture is 600 yds.

How high was it hitting?

300y was the expected battlesight setting, with any of the sights used on No. 4 rifles. Elevation zeroing was accomplished by exchanging front sights. With a 300y rear sight, the group will form at least 7" high at 100. If you want it zeroed at 100, install a higher front sight.

This rifle has a C Mk III sight installed on it, as well as the large aperture.

It was shooting between 6-7" high at 100 yds, and when I used the 200 yd aperture on the C Mk III sight the rounds hit about 1.5-2" high.

Don't want to change front sights to zero at 100, was just curious as to what the battle sight was set for.
