I can hit head sized rocks at 300 yards using the rifle sling from a sitting position with Norinco silver box.

A clay pigeon at that distance would be fun if I could see it.

The front post of my sks is huge. At 200 yards, anything the size of a metric target disappears.

I had 4 clays and arranged them in a square u could see them but it was tough and my front site post was almost cranked up all the way

Why did you have your front sight post up all the way? Don't you shoot lower like that? The rear sight is good for 800m. Just wondering.

I heard in a recent anti-gun article that the 7.62x39 is accurate out to 2.5KM.

You are really underestimating the potential of your rifle I think. Set some targets up around 2-2.5km and have at er!
